Terms
The agreement between you and Artisan Grade when you buy from this site. Written to be read, not to be survived.
By placing an order you accept these terms. If something here does not work for you, message us on WhatsApp before you order rather than after.
Who you are dealing with
Artisan Grade is a leather workshop selling directly through this website at artisangrade.info. All enquiries are handled on WhatsApp at +1 (555) 555-0100.
Orders
Adding a piece to your cart is not a contract. An order becomes binding when we confirm it by email. We may decline or cancel an order before that point — if a hide turns out to be unusable, if a price was listed in error, or if we cannot ship to your address — and if we do, you are refunded in full and immediately.
Prices are in the currency shown at checkout and exclude any import duty or local tax charged on arrival outside the United States. Those are set by your country and are payable by you.
Commissions
A commission proceeds on the written specification we send you and you approve. A fifty percent deposit secures a bench slot; the balance falls due when the piece is finished and before it ships.
You may cancel for a full refund at any time before cutting begins. Once cutting has begun the piece is made to your specification and cannot be cancelled or returned, because it cannot be sold to anyone else. Estimated timescales of six to nine weeks are given in good faith and are not guaranteed dates.
Final sale
Stock pieces are sold final sale and commissions are non-returnable once cutting has begun. This is set out in full, with our reasoning, on the shipping and returns page.
This does not apply to a piece that arrives damaged, arrives faulty, or does not match the specification sheet supplied with it. Those are our responsibility, are covered without time limit, and nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the consumer protection law of your state that cannot lawfully be waived.
The guarantee
Every piece carries a transferable lifetime repair guarantee against failures in the making, described on the guarantee page. It runs with the bag rather than with the buyer and does not require proof of purchase. It does not cover accidental damage, misuse, or ordinary patina.
Natural materials
Leather is a natural material. Colour, grain and marking vary between hides and between panels of the same hide, and every piece darkens with light and use. Variation of this kind is a property of the material, is not a defect, and is not grounds for a claim. Where a piece is shown in a photograph, that photograph shows one example rather than the exact piece you will receive unless we say otherwise.
Risk and title
Risk passes to you on delivery. Title passes when we have received payment in full.
Our liability
If we get something wrong, our liability is limited to the price you paid for the piece, together with the repair or replacement obligations described above. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
This website
The text, photographs and designs on this site belong to Artisan Grade. You are welcome to link to any page. You may not copy the content for commercial use without asking.
We try to keep everything accurate, but we do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the United States and of the state in which Artisan Grade is established, and any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of that state.
Changes
We may update these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one published when we confirmed it.
