Top-Handle Bags

A top-handle bag is carried in the hand, and that changes how it has to be built. The handle takes the entire weight of the bag every time it is lifted, so the anchor points, the reinforcement behind them and the stitch that holds them are the parts that decide whether the piece lasts five years or fifty.
These are structured, upright bags with a defined base and a shape that holds when set down. We make them across a wide size range, from small proportions that take a phone, cardholder and keys through to larger pieces that take a laptop and a day’s papers. Most carry an optional shoulder strap, so the bag works in the hand or across the body.
All are cut from full-grain leather and saddle-stitched by hand by a single maker. Each is an individual piece, not a batch, and each is covered by our transferable lifetime repair guarantee.
