Privacy
We collect what an order requires and almost nothing else. We do not sell your data, we do not share it for advertising, and there is no third-party tracking pixel on this site.
This policy explains what Artisan Grade collects when you use this website, why, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do about it. If anything here is unclear, message us on WhatsApp at +1 (555) 555-0100 and we will answer in plain language.
What we collect
When you place an order
Your name, billing and shipping address, email address, telephone number if you give one, and the contents of your order. This is the minimum needed to make a bag, ship it, and account for the sale.
We never see or store your full card number. Payment details are entered directly with our payment processor, who is responsible for handling them under the card industry security standards. We receive only a confirmation that payment succeeded and the last four digits for reference.
When you create an account
An email address and a password, stored encrypted. An account is optional — you can check out as a guest.
When you message us on WhatsApp
Your WhatsApp display name, your phone number and whatever you send us, kept so we can answer you and so that a repair enquiry years later has its history attached. WhatsApp messages are end-to-end encrypted in transit by WhatsApp; once a message reaches our device it is stored on that device and is subject to this policy. We do not use WhatsApp for marketing and we never add you to a broadcast list without asking.
Automatically
Our host records standard server logs — IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps — for security and diagnostics. Our caching software sets functional cookies so pages load correctly. None of this is used to build a profile of you.
Cookies
This site sets cookies that are necessary for it to work: keeping items in your cart, keeping you logged in, and remembering that you have dismissed a notice. If you subscribe to updates, a cookie records that so we stop asking.
There are no advertising cookies, no retargeting pixels and no cross-site trackers on this site. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, though the cart will stop working if you block the functional ones.
Why we are allowed to hold it
Order information: because we cannot perform the contract you entered into without it. Tax and accounting records: because the law requires us to keep them. Emails and enquiries: because we have a legitimate interest in answering you and honouring a guarantee that has no end date. Marketing email: only ever because you asked for it.
Who else sees it
Only the parties that make an order possible: our web host, our payment processor, the carrier that delivers your parcel, and our accountant. Each sees only what their part requires — the carrier gets an address, the accountant gets a figure. None of them may use your information for their own purposes.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
How long we keep it
Order and tax records for seven years, because that is what tax law requires. Account details until you ask us to close the account. Repair and enquiry correspondence indefinitely, because the guarantee is for life and transferable, and the history of a piece is part of servicing it. You can ask us to delete correspondence at any time.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or ask us to stop emailing you. Residents of California and other states with comparable laws have these rights in statute, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them — we extend the same rights to everyone regardless of where they live.
Message us on WhatsApp and we will respond within thirty days. We will not ask you to prove anything beyond enough to be sure it is your data we are handing over.
Messages from us
We only contact you about your order or your enquiry, unless you have specifically asked for launch updates by email. Every marketing email carries a working unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. We do not send marketing on WhatsApp.
Children
This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under thirteen.
Changes
If this policy changes we update this page and change the date below. Material changes affecting existing customers will also be emailed.
