Backpacks

A backpack is the only shape we make where the load is carried on the body rather than in the hand, and that puts the engineering in the straps and the panel they are anchored to. Two shoulder straps take the entire weight, so the anchor points are reinforced through multiple layers and stitched to take a load the bag will rarely see.
These are structured leather backpacks rather than soft rucksacks: they hold their shape when set down, close properly, and are built to be carried loaded every day. The back panel is finished as carefully as the front, because it is the surface in contact with a coat or a shirt.
Each is cut from full-grain hide and saddle-stitched by hand, one maker to one bag, from the same leathers we use across the rest of the collections.
