Totes

A tote is judged on how it behaves when it is full. An open-top bag with no structure will sag at the handles and pull out of shape within a year; the difference is in the reinforcement at the handle roots, the weight of the base and whether the maker allowed for the bag being loaded rather than empty.
The totes in this collection are built to be used daily and loaded properly. Sizes run from compact proportions that take the essentials and a book, through to pieces that swallow a laptop, a folder and a change of shoes. Some are structured and hold their shape empty; others are deliberately soft and settle around what they carry.
All are cut from full-grain hide and saddle-stitched by hand, one maker to one bag. We make them in pebbled grains that hide the marks of daily use and in smoother leathers for pieces that will see lighter wear.
